Ivace lanza el ‘Accelerathon Retos-Agua’ para seleccionar la mejor iniciativa startup especializada en aguas residuales

VALÈNCIA. El Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial (IVACE), en colaboración con el Instituto Tecnológico Metalmecánico, Mueble, Madera, Embalaje y Afines (AIDIMME) y la Red de Institutos Tecnológicos de la Comunitat Valenciana (REDIT), han lanzado la iniciativa “Accelerathon Retos-Agua”; una competición de innovación abierta sobre retos en aguas residuales: tratamientos, reutilización de agua, energía y materias primas con el apoyo institucional de Startup Europe de la Comisión Europea. (22-5-2020)

Esta competición está abierta a startups, universidades, institutos tecnológicos, asociaciones empresariales, ayuntamientos, polígonos industriales, pymes y personas emprendedoras. Entre todas las retos y soluciones presentadas, se seleccionará la mejor propuesta que, posteriormente será acelerada para presentarla a la próxima convocatoria del Programa LIFE.

El conseller de Economía Sostenible, Sectores Productivos Comercio y Trabajo, Rafa Climent, ha destacado “el papel reconocido que tiene el Ivace en Europa y su actividad el línea con los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible de la ONU”.

La iniciativa, que coordina el Ivace a nivel nacional en materia de aguas, aprovecha asimismo el caudal de recursos y conocimientos del Proyecto Europeo Interreg Europe TRIS en el que participan el IVACE y AIDIMME cuyo objetivo es compartir las mejores prácticas sobre simbiosis industrial entre las regiones europeas y apoyar a las autoridades públicas y organismos en la eficiencia de uso de los recursos y en la competitividad de sus pymes a través de la mejora de las políticas regionales.

En este sentido Climent ha incidido en que ‘Accelerathon Retos-Agua’ da respuesta al 6º Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible de las Naciones Unidas que indica la necesidad de tener aguas limpias, libres de residuos y que se puedan reaprovechar y valorizar ”.

Por su parte Fernando Saludes, presidente de REDIT y de AIDIMME ha comentado que “estas iniciativas son muy interesantes ya que permiten, a partir de unos retos definidos, plantear soluciones creativas y aportar enfoques diferentes que nos permitirán avanzar en la mejora de un proceso tan importante como es el tratamiento de aguas”.

Webinar de presentación 28 de mayo

Para explicar todos los detalles, el IVACE ha organizado un webinar de presentación que tendrá lugar el próximo jueves, 28 de mayo, a las 18:00 horas.

Con la competición se pretende identificar soluciones innovadoras y sub-retos medioambientales en materia de agua definidos por empresas, ayuntamientos o entidades.

A partir de ahí se conformarán varios equipos multidisciplinares que diseñarán proyectos sobre tratamientos avanzados, recuperación de agua, energía y materias primas a partir de aguas residuales, aportando así posibles soluciones al reto global lanzado en el Accelerathon.

Los ganadores optarán a un “ticket europeo de aceleración” que les permitirá acceder a iniciativas de networking, llegar a mercados internacionales, contactar con posibles inversores u optar exitosamente a subvenciones de la Unión Europea para proyectos piloto demostradores de hasta 2 millones de € en la Comunitat Valenciana.

La organización corre a cargo de IVACE y Startup Europe Accelerator de la Fundación Finnova, en colaboración con SEIMED, REDIT y AIDIMME con el soporte institucional de la Comisión Europea, en el marco de Water Startup Europe Awards.
